Elon Musk on the offensive
By promising a version “historically accurate”, Elon Musk ranks among the detractors of Nolan’s film. He particularly protested against the choice of Lupita Nyong’o in the roles of Helen of Troy and her half sister Clytemnestra, criticizing the director for having “lost his integrity” by choosing the Mexican actress of Kenyan origin. “Christopher Nolan has already ruined The Odyssey… Choosing Lupita Nyong’o to play Helen of Troy is absolutely scandalous and directly contradicts ancient writings,” wrote the billionaire on X a few months before the film’s release, in reaction to an Internet user’s message. The latter emphasizing that in Homer’s story, Helen of Troy was presented with “light skin and blond hair”.
