Social influencer Andrew Tate and his brother arrested in Miami

Social media influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate has been arrested in Miami, USA.

The US media are reporting on it AP and CNN and the British Public Prosecution Service in its announcement. The brothers were arrested on Saturday local time.

The public prosecutor’s office demands that the brothers be extradited to Britain for trial.

The arrest warrant was not public. According to the US Department of Justice, the brothers were arrested “pursuant to extradition proceedings”, according to CNN. The brothers are due in court next week in Miami.

Brothers have been the subject of criminal suspicions for years. Britain had brought charges against them already in 2024.

At the weekend, the British public prosecutor’s office announced that it had filed new charges against the brothers. At the same time, it demanded the brothers’ extradition to Britain.

A total of 42 charges have now been brought against Andrew Tate in Britain, including rape, human trafficking and assault.

Tristan Tate is also suspected of having committed the same crimes. A total of 17 charges have been brought against him in Britain.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the suspected crimes targeted a total of seven women. They took place between 2010 and 2017.

Britain wants the brothers extradited to Britain for trial. According to CNN’s official source, the brothers are scheduled to appear in court in Miami next week.

Andrew Tate is a popular social media influencer known for his openly misogynistic and masculinity-emphasis statements.

Britain is not the only one that has brought charges against the Tate brothers in recent years. They have also been accused of rape and human trafficking in Romania.

The assets were in the possession of the authorities in Romania for a long time. In February 2025, the brothers were able to return to the United States, even though the criminal investigation in Romania was pending.

In March 2025 Florida’s Attorney General said that he had started his own criminal investigation against the brothers. According to news agency AFP, its condition is currently unknown.

The Tates have repeatedly denied all charges.
