In response to Christopher Nolan’s hit film: Musk announces “historically correct” AI film about the “Odyssey”.

After the successful theatrical release of Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey,” Elon Musk also wants to put the ancient epic into a film. “Before the end of the year, Grok Imagine will make a feature-length film about the Odyssey that is historically accurate and does Homer’s work justice,” the billionaire wrote on his platform X. Grok Imagine is the image and video generator from Musk’s AI company xAI.

However, Homer’s ancient poem in the “Odyssey” is anything but a historical account. The epic is about, among other things, magic, cyclops and sirens. In view of this, Musk left it open what he meant by a historically correct representation.

In Nolan’s film based on Homer’s epic, Matt Damon embodies the Greek hero Odysseus on his years-long journey home after the Trojan War, marked by storms, battles and mythical dangers. In addition to Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya and Charlize Theron also star in the film.

“The Odyssey” has been running very successfully in cinemas since last week. According to Media Control, the film had more than 530,000 cinemagoers in Germany alone by Sunday. The almost three-hour epic is said to have grossed around 264 million US dollars (around 230 million euros) worldwide on its opening weekend.
