In a video broadcast on Instagram, stand-up comedian Sylvain Fergot exposes to the public certain practices of the establishment presented as problematic. A “comm call”, defends the management in The Parisian.
Mathieu Madenian and Kyan Khojandi have notably been there. Located in the XIe district, Paname is one of the flagships of laughter in the capital. The institution located near the Place de la République is currently floundering due to accusations made by a comedian, Sylvain Fergot, who accuses the management of having “fired” for the sole reason of having “wanted to get paid”.
In a video viewed, according to Instagram criteria, by 3.7 million Internet users, this comedian ensures that Paname practices a policy penalizing artists. While other establishments cancel shows in the event that there are not enough spectators, this one would maintain them without paying the comedians for “receive money from ticketing and consumption”.

After accepting the practices of this comedy club founded in 2008, Sylvain Fergot would have ended up expressing his dissatisfaction. At least, according to the story he offers and which he supports by broadcasting the messages exchanged between the director of the premises, Karim Kachour, and him.
“False” accusations, according to the establishment
“I came to play on Sunday and I was told that we weren’t paid because there weren’t enough people (…) can you at least tell us beforehand, so that we can decide to play or not? », writes for example Sylvain Fergot, who is heard responding: “As it is the month of August and many gauges are random (random, Editor’s note), we are going to take away all your dates”. Subsequently, the exchanges become tense.
In this viral video, where criticism of a practice and personal disagreement mix, the artist accuses the management of being arbitrary. She could fire a comedian “for a wrong word, for having upset the programmer, for not having accepted a proposed scene, for having refused to do the management when that is not your job”. A position which has generated support on social networks, notably from comedians like Enzo the brother and Mickael Bieche.
Contacted, Paname claims to receive “many requests”, to which it is not “not able to answer”. In The Parisian, the establishment denounces “false accusations” and a “comm call” from Sylvain Fergot. On one side or the other, nothing to laugh about.
