About a month and a half after Kate Middleton revealed she was dealing with cancer, her husband Prince William is providing a small but important update on her condition. The prince, who returned to fulfill his duties and attend events recently, visited the north of England last Tuesday, where he was asked by worried female fans how Kate was doing, and surprisingly – he decided to answer.
“Do you mind if I ask how your wife and children are doing?” asked a fan who was wrapped in the British flag. William responded kindly and politely: “Everything is fine, thank you. Everything is fine,” while patting the woman on the shoulder. The fan then asked for further clarification about Middleton and added: “I mean, given Catherine’s condition.” William continued to behave respectfully to the fan and replied: “We are all getting along well.”

The encounter happened during a visit to James Place Newcastle, a suicide prevention center for men in the city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Almost two weeks ago, William returned to public duties for the first time since his wife’s cancer diagnosis was revealed.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told The Sun website that William’s appearance is an indication that the royals are returning to some sense of normalcy. “The royals understand that everything they do sends a message in one way or another,” the commentator said, adding: “If Catherine was there, it would be fantastic, but no one expects that.”
Middleton shocked fans around the world in March when she revealed she had cancer – which she discovered after undergoing major abdominal surgery in January. “We hope you understand that as a family, we now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment,” the Princess of Wales said at the time in an emotional video. The type of cancer Middleton is battling is still unknown.
