350 doctors from European countries – on the way to be absorbed into the Israeli health system

Two years after the launch of the national program to encourage the immigration of doctors, it seems that the Zionist-professional engine is working at full speed. Last night (Sunday) the traditional MedEx event closed in Paris, presenting optimistic data: about 350 doctors from France and neighboring countries (Belgium, Germany and Switzerland) came with one goal – to closely examine their integration into the Israeli health system.

The numbers published by the organizers of the program indicate a significant change in trend. Since the launch of the national program in 2024: over 1,000 doctors have already immigrated to Israel (more than half of the original five-year target). A jump in France: in 2025, 57 doctors came from France, compared to only 25 in 2024.

The MedEx project is the result of a broad collaboration between the Ministries of Aliyah and Absorption, Health, the Negev and the Galilee, the “Nefesh Ban Nefesh” organization and the Jewish Agency, with the support of leading philanthropic foundations including the Marcus Foundation, Gottsman, Azrieli and Arison. The success of the model in Paris has already led to its replication in other cities around the world, including Los Angeles, London, Toronto and Buenos Aires.
