Jewish-Mexican philanthropist gives NIS 200 million for new rehabilitation center in Tel Aviv

The charitable foundation of Mexican-Jewish entrepreneur and philanthropist Daniel Husidman announced a donation of NIS 200 million to build a new rehabilitation center on the site of the former Sde Dov Airport in Tel Aviv.

The new center will take over the existing Reut rehabilitation center in the Yad Eliyahu neighborhood in southern Tel Aviv. Additional funds for the new center will be provided by the Tel Aviv-Jaffa Municipality and the Ministry of Health.

The complex will include 250 units of social housing, shops, a health insurance department, private medical offices, therapy services, parking and a technology incubator in the field of rehabilitation technologies.

Construction is scheduled to be completed in approximately six years. The number of beds will increase from the current 350 to 540. The diagnostic center will be expanded and a therapeutic pool will be built, which in the future may be open to the general public.

The building will be protected from missile attacks, each patient will have their own view from the window in each room, and the entire first floor will be occupied by shops with access to the street.
