Samuel Purola ran the 200m SE

Samuel Purola broke Tommi Hartonen’s 22-year-old record with a time of 20.45.

Samuel Purola has run a new Finnish record of 20.45 in the 200 meters, the Sports Association says in a press release.

The result came at the under-23 Nordic and Baltic championships in Malmö on Sunday.

The old Finnish record of 20.47 was included To Tommi Hartone. Hartonen ran the time at the Sydney Olympics in 2000.

Hartonen’s old 100-meter SE also broke recently, when Samuli Samuelsson pinked the track at 10.16.

Purola ran his top time 1.7 meters downwind.

On Saturday, Purola ran second in the 400 meters in his side event in Malmö with a record time of 47.15.
