KK Zadar has a new coach. Stipe Modrić took office

Blueć he comes to Zadar from Slovenian Illyria, where he led the first team for the last two seasons, after previously working as an assistant coach for four years. He will be remembered as the coach who introduced Illyria to the ABA league and in the first historic season among the regional elite ensured that it remained in the company of the best.

After the end of his rich playing career, his coaching journey began as an assistant coach of Olimpija Ljubljana in the 2018/19 season, and then he held the same position in Illyria for four years before taking over the management of the first team.

Born in Sinjana, his basketball journey began in Alkar, and during his playing career he played for Olimpija, Slovan, Ludwigsburg, Cholet, Cedevita, Anwil Włocławek, Astrum Levice and Portorož. He finished his career in Ilirija, a club where he later started a successful coaching career.

As a gameč he achieved his greatest success in the jersey of Olimpija, with which he won the title of ABA league champion in 2002. With the Ljubljana club, he also won two titles of the national champion of Slovenia and four national cups.

The contract with Modri ​​was signed until the end of the 2027/28 season.

In the recently ended season, Zadar was defeated by Cibona in the final series with 2-3. During his four years with Zadar, Jusup was Croatian champion three times and won one Krešimir Ćosić Cup.
