Sinner narrowly continued at Wimbledon – a special detail caught my eye

Tennis star Jannik Sinner beat out Miomir Kecmanovićin In the first round of Wimbledon.

The Italian, who is at the top of the world rankings, barely beat his Serbian opponent 3–2 (4–6, 6–3, 6–7, 6–2, 6–3).

In social media, attention was drawn to Sinner’s shoe. The white shoe appeared to be covered in blood. The Italian unfortunately fell in the middle of the match.

Sinner revealed after the match that his toenail was the cause of the bleeding.

“I’m actually really surprised that I was allowed to continue when my white game outfit turned red,” the Italian said.

He also added that he did not want to spoil the rhythm of the game by stopping the match.

According to the Wimbledon rules, players must wear a tennis outfit that is “almost all white” during the tournament.

Sinner will face the Portuguese in the next round Nuno Borgesin. The match will be played on Wednesday.
