First round became the terminus for her. And it was not because she lost.

The Danish tennis player Clara Tauson had to throw in the towel and get rid of the WTA tournament Miami Open, when she felt uncomfortable on the court against Chinese Shuai Zhang.

She was trailing by 1-2 when she gave up in the third set.

The Dane had lost the first set 4-6, but otherwise fought back in the second and won it by the same numbers.

In the American Florida heat, Tauson was repeatedly watched on the sidelines, signaling she was not comfortable.

Even though she started the match with lightning and thunder, the Danish tennis hope did not make things stick together at all, and the first set thus went the Chinese’s way.

Fought back
Still, Tauson managed to get out to the second set with renewed energy.

She quickly broke to 1-0 and lifted a streak of serveesses before first bringing herself to 2-0 and then 3-1.

One serve breakthrough proved to be enough, for with her ninth ace in the match, she won the set.

A long break followed after Tauson left the field to go for a walk in the locker room. But after a while, the players finally made a hole in the third set, and seen with Danish glasses, it was another good start.

Tauson broke Zhang, but did not move optimally on the field and lost the next two games with downcast gaze and lack of energy discharge.

After four more duels, she could no longer, and she searched the net to thank her opponent for the match.

Holger Rune, unlike Clara Tauson, had to go through the qualification to reach the main tournament, but in his first match he had to retire with back problems.

Thus, there are no more Danes left in the senior tournaments in the Miami Open.
