When you think of yoga, you usually imagine bright rooms that are lined with mats and radiate calm. But you can also meditate and stretch in a busy office. At least that’s what yoga teacher Jana Seidel, who specializes in burnout prevention and employee health, is convinced.
“It’s a misconception that you have to take a lot of time for yoga and drive to the studio,” says the 37-year-old. “It is more important to use the exercises regularly in everyday life – not just when tension and pain have already built up.”
She herself worked in an office for a long time and went to yoga in the evenings. She later began to incorporate the units into her everyday work: to calm herself down before meetings, counteract back tension and improve her posture.
