Martti Puumalainen was confused by his competitor's question – Sports

Martti Puumalainen had to explain a pair of words quite familiar to Finns.

Judo star Martti Puumalainen is used to solving one challenge after another on the tatami mat, and the heavyweight champion, who is part of Finland’s Olympic hopes, is not surprised by the horses.

Outside the tatami, however, Puumalainen says he had to answer a surprising question.

The competitor’s question was related Counter-Strike 2 -game to the winner of the major tournament in the ranks of the Na’Vi team Aleksi Virolainen.

“I was a bit confused when an Azerbaijani competitor came to ask “what does “meeting at the market” mean?” It turned out that he is a cs guy,” Puumalainen wrote in the message service X on Tuesday.

The pair of words meet at the market is naturally connected to the Helsinki Market Square, around which many Finnish successes have been celebrated, especially in sports.

The team of Aleksi Virolainen, 27, pocketed around 460,000 euros from the victory of the major tournament, PGL Major Copenhagen, as well as tournament spots for the Blast Premier World Final 2024 and Esports World Cup 2024 tournaments.

The 27-year-old Estonian is the first Finnish major winner in history. It is also by far the most significant achievement of his career.

Wheelchair winder Esa-Pekka Mattila commented on Puumalainen’s writing, to which Puumalainen responded with a manipulated picture of himself and exclaiming: “Here we are!”

A man from Puma was the first Finn to win the Masters competition in Hungary in August. After the World Championships, the Masters is regarded as the sport’s toughest event.

In November, Puumalainen, known by the nickname “Marasonni”, won the heavyweight European championship in France and brought a prestigious judo medal to Finland after a 30-year hiatus.

Georgia fell in the final Guram Tushisviliwho is the world champion from 2018 and the Olympic silver medalist from the Tokyo Games in 2021.

Puumalainen, 26, lives in Helsinki and represents Meidokan from Helsinki. He is one of Finland’s medal hopes at next summer’s Paris Olympics.
