Ice hockey player Alexander Reichenberg, 31, has died – Sports

The Norwegian club Lillehammer announced the death of my clubmate Alexander Reichenberg.

Norway represented in hockey at the Olympics Alexander Reichenberg has died at the age of 31. His club Lillehammer told about it on their website.

The club does not say the club icon’s cause of death.

“It’s incredibly sad to think that we won’t be able to see his big smile, extra deflection and a shot from the arc of the starting point,” the club’s press release states.

“Alexander was an important player for the team, and he set an example for young players at the beginning of their careers. Rest in peace, number 61. You will always be remembered as an artist.”

Reichenberg, who played as a left winger, represented Norway at the 2018 Olympics and scored one goal in the five matches he played. He also played a total of 14 matches in two World Championships with 4+4.

In his career, Reichenberg played in the Czech Republic and Sweden in addition to Norway. He represented his childhood club Lillehammer for a total of 11 seasons.

Swedish Linus Johansson played with Reichenberg in Färjestad in the 2018–19 season. Johansson remembers the Norwegian as a funny teammate.

“I just heard the news. My heart broke,” Johansson commented to the Swedish magazine For Expressen.

“He was an incredibly funny guy and joked a lot. He also had really good self-confidence.”
