Roma and Juventus draw 1-1 in the match scheduled today for the 35th matchday of Serie A. Giallorossi take the lead with Lukaku in the 15th minute, Juventus reply with Bremer in the 31st minute. The draw allows Juventus to rise to 66 points: Allegri’s team is close to arithmetically qualifying for the next Champions League. Roma, fifth with 60, risks being caught by Atalanta.
The match
After the Europa League match against Leverkusen, De Rossi chose Baldanzi in Roma’s trident from the start with Dybala and Lukaku. In defense on the right Kristensen and on the left Angelino, central pairing formed by Llorente and Ndicka. Allegri, on the other hand, does not give up on the Vlahovic-Chiesa attacking tandem with Weah confirmed on the right wing, while Cambiaso plays on the left. Behind the trio composed of Gatti, Bremer and Danilo.
Juve started well with Vlahovic who shot wide in the 7th minute served by Chiesa. Roma responds in the 11th minute: cross to the far post by Angelino for Kristensen who alone heads the ball onto the crossbar. Juve raises the pace and in the 31st minute they find the equalizer: Chiesa’s number who crosses from the right and finds Bremer who takes everyone’s time with a header and makes it 1-1.
At the start of the second half Juve immediately threatened. In the 47th minute, another play by Chiesa leaves Kristensen in place with a feint, enters the area and attempts a shot but hits the inside post with the ball crossing the entire goal line and coming out the opposite side. In the 58th minute there was contact between Weah and Paredes in the middle of the pitch, Roma asked for a second yellow card, but referee Colombo allowed De Rossi to continue, furious, while Allegri, having escaped the danger, immediately replaced Weah for Kostic.
Juve starts playing again and in the 62nd minute Chiesa receives the ball and tries to take charge, he focuses and kicks with power but Svilar is careful. Roma starts pressing high again and in the 67th minute a great play comes from Baldanzi who frees himself and from the back serves Pallegrini to the center but the conclusion is deflected for a corner. Giallorossi still close to scoring in the 69th minute: after a melee in the area following a corner kick, Kristensen tries to coordinate but Danilo saves with a header with Szczesny out of play.
Juve responds in the 79th minute with Locatelli who counterattacks the ball on the edge of the area but Svilar dives to touch it and send it into the corner. The same Giallorossi goalkeeper exalted himself in the 79th minute when he deflected Kean’s safe header over the crossbar. But the last chance for success comes to Roma. In the 94th minute Abraham served in the area, controlled and finished with power but Szczesny denied him the goal.
