Meta is working on an agent inspired by OpenClaw and an agentic shopping tool for Instagram

Meta is working on a artificial intelligence agent (AI) to work within your applications and in third-party services, inspired by OpenClaw, but more accessible and an agentic shopping tool for Instagram.

The technology company has begun testing its new agent, which known internally as Hatchon external services such as DoorDash, Reddit and Etsy within a simulated environment, according to The Information, which cites sources familiar with this matter.

Hatch presents himself as a commercial agent inspired by OpenClaw –the open source AI assistant that can access all functions of a computer–, and currently works with Anthropic models, but is expected to be powered by Muse Spark at launch.

The company’s intention is for Hatch to work with external services, but also its own, although it is also working in another agentic tool to make purchases within Instagram, with the aim of competing with TikTok Shop, which is expected to be available later this year.

This information follows the announcement that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg made last week, as part of the first quarter financial results, in which he said that they were developing personal and business agents powered by the Muse Spark model.

“Our goal is not only to offer Meta AI as an assistant, but also to offer agents that can understand your goals [de los usuarios] and then work day and night to help them achieve them“he expressed in a post shared on Facebook.

Zuckerberg also referred to OpenClaw, which he said “offers a very interesting glimpse of what should be possible,” but stressed that its use is “quite complicated.” Therefore, he shared his goal of make these types of services more accessible.
