Apple increases the prices of Mac and iPad, that’s how much

The price increases prove to be particularly heavy and distributed across the entire hardware catalogue. Entry-level laptops, such as the MacBook Neo and the 13 and 15-inch MacBook Air models, have undergone increases of between 100 and 200 euros, while the MacBook Pro variants record increases ranging from 300 to 600 euros depending on the presence of the M5 Pro or M5 Max chips. On the desktop front, markups stand at around 250 euros for the Mac mini and reach 300 euros for the iMac M4.

However, the most noticeable change is recorded in the very high end of the professional segment, where the Mac Studio with M3 Ultra processor undergoes a net increase of 1,300 euros, positioning itself at a starting price of 6,399 euros. Not even tablets and accessories have remained immune to the move, with upward adjustments for the iPad Air and Pro lines, for HomePod devices and for the Apple TV 4K.

Cupertino’s reactive strategy is rooted in the dynamics of the global supply chain, strongly stressed by the transition to the digital age and the AI ​​ecosystem. The massive demand for cloud infrastructures from large industrial players has progressively reduced the availability of DRAM and NAND memories, the key components for data storage and management in latest generation devices.
