At least four dead and 20 injured, four seriously, in another shooting at a school in southern Turkey

Turkish authorities reported this Wednesday that at least four people have died and another 20 have been injured, four of them seriously, in another shooting at a school in the city of Kahramanmaras, in the south of the country, which represents the second attack of this type in just two days.

The governor of the province of the same name, Mukerrem Unluer, has indicated in statements to the press that preliminary information indicates that the fatalities are a teacher and three students, although the number could increase, according to information collected by the Turkish television network TRT.

Unluer has thus indicated that the attack took place at the Ayser Çalik Institute, although the possible motive for the shooting is currently unknown. “The incident remains open. It is a tragic attack against one of our schools. We are investigating what happened exhaustively,” explained the governor.

The Minister of the Interior of Turkey, Mustafa Çiftçi, and the Minister of Education, Yusuf Tekin, have announced their transfer to the region to closely follow the events, which take place just one day after another shooting was recorded on Tuesday against a school in the city of Sanliurfa, also in the south of the country, which left 16 injured.
