Israel and Hezbollah continue to attack each other

Negotiations in Washington

On Tuesday evening, the Lebanese ambassador to the USA, Nada Hamadeh Moawad, and the Israeli representative in Washington, Yechiel Leiter, held talks. It was the first time in decades that Israeli and Lebanese representatives met for direct political-level talks. According to US information, the direct negotiations, which could lead to a “comprehensive peace agreement,” will continue.

Israel also wants to disarm Hezbollah during the talks. The Lebanese government, which is not a party to the war between Israel and Hezbollah, wants to achieve a ceasefire and a withdrawal of Israeli soldiers from southern Lebanon.
