Fars: Iranian supertanker passed through the Strait of Hormuz despite the US blockade

Fars news agency claims that an Iranian supertanker with a carrying capacity of two million barrels of oil passed through the Strait of Hormuz and entered Iranian territorial waters – despite the US naval blockade. It is emphasized that the ship did not turn off the transponder.

Earlier, Reuters reported, citing an informed source, that an American destroyer intercepted two tankers that were trying to leave Iranian territorial waters. The incident occurred in the Gulf of Oman, east of the Strait of Hormuz.

On April 14, the Chinese tanker Rich Starry, which was under American sanctions, passed through the strait on its way from the Persian Gulf. She became the first ship to break the American blockade.
