Israel affirms that its Army is ready to resume fighting on all fronts

The Chief of the Israeli General Staff, Eyal Zamir assured in statements released this Wednesday that The Army maintains a high level of preparation and is ready to resume “immediately and forcefully” the military operations “on all fronts.”

Zamir added that his troops are carrying out “intense combat” in Lebanon with the aim of strengthening the defense of the communities in the north of the country, and also mentioned operations in Iran, although as it was a previously recorded message and without a specified registration date, it is not clear to what specific moment these statements correspond.

The Israeli Army confirmed this Wednesday new air attacks in southern Lebanon despite the current ceasefire, in actions that it described as “self-defense.” Israel maintains several divisions deployed in the area, where it controls a strip of between 8 and 10 kilometers from the border and restricts access to dozens of Lebanese towns.

In parallel, the president of the United States, Donald Trump, announced this Wednesday the extension of the ceasefire in the region, at the request of Pakistan, until Iran presents a proposal within the framework of the ongoing negotiations, although Washington maintains measures such as the naval blockade of Iranian ships after the failure of previous contacts.
