The head of the US Central Command, Admiral Bradley Cooper, announced the destruction of six Iranian high-speed boats in the Strait of Hormuz in response to shelling of American warships and merchant ships under their protection.
The military commander said that in addition to boats, Iran used cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles in the attack. The boats were attacked by Apache and SH-60 Seahawk helicopters.
“I won’t go into detail about whether the truce continues or not. We protected freedom of navigation out of the Gulf. The Iranian side behaved aggressively, and we simply responded to that as prescribed by the president’s orders,” Cooper said.
