Champions League: 1-1 against Paris: FC Bayern misses the Champions League final

FC Bayern Munich missed the Champions League final. The German soccer champions couldn’t get past a 1-1 (0-1) draw in their own stadium in the semi-final second leg against defending champions Paris Saint-Germain. The French won the spectacular first game last week 5-4.

In front of 75,000 spectators in the Allianz Arena, Bayern were behind early on thanks to a goal from Ousmane Dembélé. The former Dortmund player scored in the 3rd minute after an assist from Chwitscha Kwarazchelia. Harry Kane scored late (90+4) to equalize, but it was no longer enough.

The decisions of the Portuguese referee Joao Pinheiro caused a lot of criticism. In the first half, the Munich team demanded a yellow-red card for PSG defender Nuno Mendes and a penalty after a handball by Joao Neves. Both failed to materialize.
