Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar met with the head of the Bundestag

Foreign Minister Gideon Saar met with Bundestag President Julia Klöckner in Berlin. During the meeting, the parties discussed relations between the countries, the Iranian threat, the situation in Lebanon, as well as the importance of combating anti-Semitism.

Gideon Saar presented the head of the Bundestag with documentary evidence of the existence of underground tunnels of the terrorist organization Hezbollah, recorded by IDF forces just a few kilometers from the border. This is despite the Lebanese Army’s commitment to clear the area of Hezbollah forces.

Foreign Minister Sa’ar noted that even before the start of Operation Roar of the Lion, Israel had recorded the preparation of a terrorist group for an invasion of Israeli territory. In this regard, the presence of IDF forces in the area of South Lebanon is necessary to protect the inhabitants of the north. Sa’ar also added that the army’s actions in the region are aimed at preventing anti-tank missiles from attacking Israeli populated areas.
