Israel accuses Lamine Yamal of “inciting hatred” against Israel for waving the Palestinian flag

The Minister of Defense of Israel, Israel Katz, accused this Thursday the Spanish footballer of FC Barcelona Lamine Yamal of “inciting and fomenting hatred” against Israel, for his gesture of waving the Palestinian flag during the League title celebrations.

“Lamine Yamal chose to incite against Israel and foment hatred, while our soldiers fight the terrorist organization Hamas, an organization that massacred, raped, burned and murdered Jewish children, women and elderly people on October 7,” said the head of Defense in a message on social networks written in Spanish.

In this way, it has been questioned whether Yamal’s gesture is “humanitarian” or “moral.” “As Minister of Defense of the State of Israel, I will not remain silent in the face of incitement against Israel and against the Jewish people,” he indicated.

And he has demanded that the “large and respected” club “distance itself from these statements and make it clear, unequivocally, that there is no place for incitement or support for terrorism.”
