Donald Trump shared about his meeting with Xi Jinping regarding Iran

“He said he’s not going to give them military equipment. That’s a big statement. He said that today,” Trump told Fox News, adding that Xi “said that emphatically.” However, Trump noted that Xi also emphasized his country’s economic ties with Iran, especially oil deals. Trump noted that China buys “a lot of their oil” from Iran, adding that Xi told him that “they would like to continue to do so.”

Trump emphasized that Xi joined the desire to see the Strait of Hormuz reopened: “He joked, ‘You know, they stopped it, and then you stopped them.'” Trump also noted that the Chinese leader expressed frustration with reports that Iran charges transit fees for crossing the Strait.
