Ravetto leaves the League and joins Futuro Nazionale

The deputy and head of the Equal Opportunities department of the League Laura Ravetto leaves Matteo Salvini’s party and joins National future Of Roberto Vannacci. The news, anticipated by a newspaper, is confirmed by qualified Fnv sources.

“I welcome Laura Ravetto with great pleasure within Futuro Nazionale. She is a political personality with consolidated experience, with five legislatures in Parliament and important roles held during her institutional activity, including that of undersecretary for relations with Parliament in 2010 and head of the immigration department of Forza Italia in 2019”, comments founder Roberto Vannacci. “I am certain – he adds – that he will be able to offer an important contribution to the growth and evolution of Futuro Nazionale”. The formalization of the entry and the official declarations, it is announced, will take place on Thursday in Salsomaggiore Terme, on the occasion of the ‘War and Peace’ event, scheduled for 9pm. Ravetto’s career

Originally from Cuneo, Ravetto was elected for the first time to the Chamber in the Lombardy 2 constituency in 2006, with Forza Italia, the party for which she held the role of undersecretary for relations with Parliament from 1 March 2010 to 16 November 2011 in the fourth Berlusconi government. Re-elected in 2008 in the same constituency on the list of the ‘Berlusconian’ Popolo delle Libertà, a party for which she held the position of national manager of the communication, image and propaganda sector. Candidate for the 2009 European elections, she was not elected. In 2010 she was appointed by the Council of Ministers as undersecretary for relations with Parliament in the Berlusconi IV government, alongside the minister Elio Vito, a position she held until the fall of the executive on 16 November 2011. In the 2013 political elections she was re-elected for the third time as deputy for the PdL again in the Lombardy 2 constituency. On 16 November 2013, with the suspension of the activities of Il Popolo della Libertà, decides to join the rebirth of Forza Italia and in the 2018 policies she is again elected to the Chamber in the single-member constituency Lombardia 2 – 05 (Como), obtaining 48.19% and overtaking Chiara Braga of the centre-left (23.68%) and Elisa Nicotra of the 5 Star Movement (21.75%). On 6 October 2019 she was appointed Head of the immigration department of Forza Italia. On 19 November 2020 he decided to leave Forza Italia, together with Federica Zanella and Maurizio Carrara, and joined the Prime Minister Salvini League.

Silvia Sardone’s comment

“When political elections are approaching, a change from one party to another is typical. With the current system of blocked lists, changes occur by chance. It seems like a fact to me. Evidently Laura Ravetto will not have had sufficient guarantees from the League” on her candidacy. Thus Northern League MEP Silvia Sardone commented to L’Aria che Tira, on La7, the news of Ravetto’s move to the ranks of General Roberto Vannacci’s party. After Ravetto’s exit, “maybe someone else will join the League”, Sardone hypothesized.
