Surely we are proud. We celebrate 35 years of our young armed forces, which did their job during the Homeland War, returned the occupied territory and the constitutional and legal order, defeated the aggressor and brought the security and freedom that we live in our homeland today, said retired general Ante Gotovina on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the founding of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia.
For Dnevnik Nova TV, he emphasized the importance of the Croatian army in preserving the freedom, security and stability of the country. Speaking about the role of future generations in the defense system, he emphasized that Croatian soldiers still have the important task of protecting national security.
– They do their job today and continue to do their job as one of the most important pillars of national security. They maintain the level of combat readiness and technological equipment and take care of that – he said.
Gotovina also referred to the contemporary challenges faced by the armed forces, stressing the importance of investing in new technologies and modernization of the army.
– All this is necessary in order to be safe in this time and in this uncertain world in which we live – concluded the retired general.
