Planned talks between US and Iran canceled due to series of attacks

Negotiations between the United States and Iran, scheduled to resume next week in Switzerland, have been frozen indefinitely due to a series of mutual attacks.

Let us recall that earlier on Sunday, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reported attacks on eight American military installations in the Middle East, including the al-Salam airbase in Kuwait and the Mina Salman naval base in Bahrain. An official US source told Reuters there were no casualties in the strikes. There are no reports of damage to the bases.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry again accused the United States of violating the signed memorandum: “The brutal attacks on our southern coast demonstrate that the United States does not intend to adhere to its commitments. It is in their nature to violate treaties.”

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said U.S. Navy and Air Force fighter jets struck 10 Iranian military targets in several areas near the Strait of Hormuz. CENTCOM says the operation was in response to an Iranian attack on the tanker M/T Kiku.
