EU Foreign Ministers will discuss the introduction of sanctions against Israeli settlements

It is noted that the discussion will not entail any concrete steps, since many EU members, including Germany and Italy, oppose the embargo. To impose sanctions, the consent of all 27 countries is required. However, the very submission of the issue for consideration is a signal to the Israeli leadership.

Let us add that on July 8, an embargo against settlement products was introduced by Ireland. At the same time, the business community warns that extending sanctions to services will create unacceptable conditions for international corporations that have located their European headquarters in Dublin.
