Danger of traffic jams in Potsdam: major construction sites start in Babelsberg and the city center

Großbeerenstrasse becomes a one-way street into the city. Depending on the construction phase, the adjacent streets Friesenstrasse, Jahnstrasse, Wattstrasse and Fultonstrasse will also be closed. Traffic will be rerouted via the Nuthe expressway. A separate diversion should be signposted for cyclists. Pedestrians pass by the construction site. Traffic jams are to be expected on both Großbeerenstrasse and Nuthestrasse.

In the city center, half of Charlottenstrasse will be closed in the Bäckerstrasse/Kleine Gasse area due to pipeline work. This also affects tram traffic: Tram lines 91 and 93 to Charlottenhof Palace and Pirschheide train station will be interrupted for three weeks, and the west of Potsdam is disconnected from the tram network. Instead, replacement buses will run from the unit location. Car traffic will be redirected via Schopenhauerstrasse, Breite Strasse and Dortustrasse. The construction site is expected to last until October.

The so-called “small” Hegelallee between Schopenhauerstrasse up to and including the intersection with Hermann-Elflein-Strasse will be completely closed from Monday until probably July 24th. The reason is pipeline construction work.

At Stern, the Patrician Way between Mendelssohn-Bartholdy-Strasse and Flotowstrasse will be completely closed for the erection of a crane on Monday. Pedestrians can pass through the construction site.

Drewitzer Straße will be closed from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. out of town in the direction of Am Buchhorst on Wednesday night due to tree care work in the area of ​​the level crossing.

The Konrad-Zuse-Ring will be completely closed at heights 3a-b for the establishment of house connections from July 14th to 27th. The path for pedestrians remains clear.
