Bundesliga: Report: Cologne rejects Dortmund’s offer for El Mala

According to a Sky report, Borussia Dortmund has rejected an initial offer for young star Said El Mala from 1. FC Köln. Accordingly, BVB made an offer for the offensive player last week worth 26 million euros plus eight million in easy-to-reach bonus payments and a further eight million euros in hard-to-reach bonus payments.

According to the report, those responsible for FC rejected this offer directly and even appeared irritated because the offer was said to have been significantly below Cologne’s expectations. According to media reports, the English first division club FC Brentford had previously put together a total transfer package of up to 50 million euros for El Mala. However, the national player decided against this change.

“There were one or two offers that were made public. But it didn’t lead to a transfer afterwards and that’s why I’m firmly convinced that he will play for FC this season,” said FC sports director Thomas Kessler after the start of training. “He seems full of energy, he’s really happy to be here and we’re also really happy that we have Said here.”
