Trump: "Iran wants a deal. Now we talk to them more seriously, but I’m in no hurry"

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, addressed the topic of escalation against Iran and said: “We are talking to them right now. I think things are becoming more and more serious as the days go by. Maybe for the obvious reason.”
Trump said he had not yet made a decision about “the massive attack” and referred to talks taking place alongside the fighting: “There are two ways. I think one is the smartest way, but the other is probably the easiest, and that is to continue doing what we’re doing and we can take it to a much higher level if we want.”

The WSJ indiscretion

In the afternoon, the Wall Street Journal spread the news that Donald Trump was losing patience with Iran. During a recent meeting in the Oval Office the president vented his anger against Iranian leaders, not without some swear words.
Trump, administration sources said, is increasingly skeptical that negotiations can produce a lasting peace. For him, the only thing Iran understands is military strength and therefore it has gone into “revenge mode”. So there are not many options other than continuing the attacks.
The frustration grows as the days pass. In his plans, the war should have ended within a few weeks but instead there is no light at the end of the tunnel. And his advisors fear that, with rising gasoline prices and at least eighteen fallen soldiers, they are not only damaging Trump’s presidency but further damaging the Republicans’ already dim hopes of winning the midterm elections.

The Iranian threat

Ali Abdollahi, commander of Iran’s emergency headquarters Khatam al-Anbiya, threatened the United States: “For the death of every Iranian citizen, an American soldier will be sent to hell. We have prepared direct tickets to hell for you.”
