Iran accuses Benjnamin Netanyahu of using the United States to evade the ICC arrest warrant

Iran accuses the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu of using the United States to evade the arrest warrant of the International Criminal Court (ICC) against him for “war crimes” in Gaza, after the Israeli president affirmed that Washington will act against the court.

In November 2024, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants against Netanyahu and his then Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity committed during the Israeli offensive in Gaza.

Israel rejects the court’s jurisdiction and denies the accusations.

The Iranian criticism comes in a context of maximum tension between Iran, Israel and the United States after months of confrontations.
