Ilaria Salis condannata a risarcire due ex collaboratori per 300mila euro. L'europarlament…

Ilaria Salis, MEP for Avs, was sentenced last March by a judge of the Labor section of the Court of Milan to pay compensation of 300 thousand euros to two of her former collaborators, fired without just causein July 2025.

The sentence for Ilaria Salis

The two assistants turned to a Milanese law firm which challenged the letter of interruption with immediate effect of the two co.co.co. contracts, signed in February 2024, after Salis was elected to the European Parliament.

The sums to be paid

The judge condemned the activist, arrested in Hungary in 2023, as having not appeared in the proceedings, she did not demonstrate proof of just cause for the dismissal. He will have to pay the two former collaborators 147,900 thousand euros and 153 thousand euros respectively, equal to the remuneration that the workers would have accrued upon expiry of their contracts in 2029.

Ilaria Salis: “A surreal story”

Ilaria Salis says she is “confident” that the appeal sentence can ascertain the truth, that is, that the termination of the employment relationship with the two collaborators at the center of an employment case “was neither arbitrary nor without reasons”.

In a long post on social media, the MEP explains that “in March 2026 the Court of Milan issued a first-instance ruling relating to the withdrawal from the collaboration relationship with two assistants (a http://co.co.co and a VAT number), deeming just cause to be inexistent. This is a decision that I fully contest and which I have already appealed”.

“The proceeding is currently pending on appeal and I am therefore confident that the subsequent level of judgment will allow the facts to be correctly ascertained. The decision to interrupt the collaboration with the two assistants was not arbitrary, sudden or without reasons.

It had become”, continues Salis, “on the contrary, necessary to protect the correct exercise of my parliamentary mandate, the public resources entrusted to my responsibility and, ultimately, the people I represent”.

There is also a particularly serious profile, bordering on the surreal. In fact, I did not have the opportunity to defend myself in the first instance trial (which took place in my absence and without my knowledge) because, although the methods by which to notify me of the documents were perfectly known – it would have been sufficient to send a communication to my email inbox or to my PEC -, the notification never reached me. Given my blameless absence, the Court pronounced its decision exclusively on the basis of the elements acquired from the appellants. I trust that the appeal judgment will provide full clarity on the matter”.

Gasparri: “They preach well but they scratch badly”

“They preach well, but they scratch around badly. In fact, they scratch around very badly. Ilaria Salis has already had a problematic relationship with the houses. She hoped for occupation then it seems that she herself had some financial problems due to missed payments. Now she is also revealed to be a questionable employer. In fact, a judge in the Milan court has sentenced her to pay 300 thousand euros because she had fired two of her collaborators without just cause”. This was declared by Forza Italia senator, Maurizio Gasparri.

“The reasons given for terminating the two contracts, which would have expired at the end of her parliamentary mandate, in July 2029, were not considered adequate by the magistrate to whom the dismissed people appealed. In short, those who give lessons on social issues do so by targeting other people’s homes and mistreating their collaborators to whom they have denied a peaceful working relationship. Theory is one thing, practice is another. So Salis, as Soumahoro and like other ‘champions’ of the left, confirms itself as an authentic bluff. Many compliments to those who believed people of this type”, he concludes.

Fratoianni, we respect the sentences

“For the Green Alliance and the Left, respect for the sentences of the judiciary, and even more so for workers’ rights, is unshakable. Ilaria Salis declared that she is sure she will be able to demonstrate her reasons in the appeal. We will see how the appeal goes, but there is no doubt that for us this remains a fixed point”. Nicola Fratoianni, leader of Avs, said this on the sidelines of the conference “Vento a 25, Genova still blows”, commenting on the trial of the MEP Ilaria Salis (Avs) sentenced yesterday for having fired two collaborators.
