The US imposed sanctions against the IRGC network that financed the Houthis

The US Treasury announced the imposition of sanctions against an illegal network used to finance the activities of the Houthis. The Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was behind the network.

Tens of millions of dollars were pumped through the network, which included many front companies in various countries, according to a statement from the Treasury Department. This money was used, among other things, for the shelling of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

“Despite attempts to end the bloody conflict, the Houthis continue to engage against Yemen’s neighbors, against civilians, while Yemenis are starving and becoming refugees,” Deputy Minister Brian Nelson said.
