“Armenia has agreed to return the 4 occupied villages of Azerbaijan,” stated the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan, referring to the results of the 8th session of the Armenian and Azerbaijani border delimitation commissions.

“Armenia has agreed to return the four Azerbaijani villages that have been occupied since the beginning of the 1990s,” said Aykhan Hajizadeh, the spokesperson of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announces that the 4 villages claimed by Azerbaijan – Baghanis Ayrum, Ashagh Askipara, Kheirimli and Ghezilhajili – are not de jure in the territory of Armenia, according to the Alma-Ata declaration.

“Azerbaijan receives two and a half villages belonging to it, because the entire territory of the village of Kizl Hajli, and a significant part of the territory of the village of Ashagh Askipara were still under the control of Azerbaijan,” the Prime Minister’s staff announced.
