War in Gaza: Hamas's armed wing claims rocket fire at Kerem Shalom crossing

The Ezzedine al-Qassam brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian Hamas movement, claimed responsibility on Sunday for rocket fire around Kerem Shalom, the main crossing point for humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, which led the Israeli army to close it. The al-Qassam Brigades “struck enemy forces” on Kerem Abu Salem (Palestinian name for Kerem Shalom) and its surroundings with “short-range rockets,” the movement said in a statement, accompanied by a video showing gunfire .

And continued: “Shortly afterwards, IAF fighter jets struck the launcher from which the projectiles were fired. Additionally, IAF fighter jets struck a military structure located in the launcher area. »

 

“The firing carried out by Hamas near the Rafah crossing, located approximately 350 m from civilian shelters, is a clear example of the terrorist organization’s systematic exploitation of humanitarian facilities and spaces and its continued use of civilian population of Gaza as human shields,” continues the State of Israel on X.
