Songkran marks the Thai New Year, a celebration of family values, respect for the elderly and traditional rituals at temples across the country. In 2024, Songkran officially lasts 4 days, from April 12 to 16. However, in provinces and cities, the festival is often held early and ends later, so the time lasts from April 4 to April 20.
