More than 450 billion turned Bai Tho Mountain into a spiritual tourist destination

Quang NinhHa Long City invested 452 billion VND to build squares, trees, and technical infrastructure of Bai Tho Mountain cultural area, aiming to turn this place into a spiritual tourist destination.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Bai Tho Mountain project and the renovation of Monsignor Tran Quoc Nghien Temple took place on the morning of April 3 at the temple gate in Hong Gai Ward, Ha Long City.

The square, trees and technical infrastructure connecting the Bai Tho mountain cultural area have an area of ​​nearly 1.2 hectares, with a total investment of about 213 billion VND, equal to the city budget. In the square there will be an octagonal floor, service houses, roads, underground toilets…

The park and trees from the area of ​​Tran Quoc Nghien Temple to Bai Tho bridge have an area of ​​nearly 0.9 hectares, with a total investment of about 239 billion VND.

Particularly, the expansion, renovation and embellishment of the Temple of Monsignor Tran Quoc Nghien in Hong Gai ward, Ha Long city will be implemented with merit funds and other socialized mobilization.

According to Ha Long City leaders, the renovation and embellishment will be carried out based on the principle of respecting the old overall with elements of boundaries, location of original relics, architectural landscape space with large scale. .

Bai Tho Mountain is located in the center of Ha Long, 168 m high, with 12 poems engraved on the cliff. The most famous are the poems of King Le Thanh Tong engraved in 1468 and Lord Trinh Cuong engraved in 1729.

In 1992, the Bai Tho Cultural Cluster including Bai Tho Mountain, the Quang Ninh Post Office Main Hall located above, Long Tien Pagoda and Monsignor Tran Quoc Nghien Temple were recognized as national historical relics.

In 2017, Bai Tho Mountain was closed for sightseeing after a forest fire. However, many domestic and foreign tourists still find ways to climb up here to admire the scenery. Ha Long City is planning to build Bai Tho Mountain relic area into a cultural and spiritual tourism center, including opening Bai Tho Mountain.
