Serta provides 6 million meals for planes in Belgrade

Abdullah Al-Shammari, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirati company Serta, revealed that the company has succeeded in strengthening its position in the field of air hospitality, as it continues its services in providing food and drinks at Belgrade and Niš airports, in Serbia, noting that the company is responsible for providing duty-free services on board airlines. Serbian.

Al-Shammari said in an interview with Al-Khaleej: “The company began its work in the field of air hospitality and catering in 2016, where an amount of 20 million dirhams was invested in this important sector, and the company provides 6 million meals, except for light sandwiches and drinks on board the aircraft.” , which operates its flights to Belgrade International Airport, and also provides its services to Serbia’s Niš Airport.

Al-Shammari added: “Our investment in Serbia is witnessing significant growth, especially with the development work taking place at Belgrade Airport and the growth in the number of passengers through it, reaching 8 million passengers last year.” It was stated that the contract to provide air hospitality services at Belgrade Airport extends over a period of 15 years, as Serta, the Emirati company, has succeeded in enhancing its capabilities in this vital sector, and runs a specialized facility in which 270 employees work, from Serbia and Asian countries, who have high experience in food and beverages. .

He stated that the company is currently looking for opportunities to expand its business, whether in Europe or other countries, especially with the great experience it enjoys and the high quality it provides through the meals and foods that are prepared for airline companies. He pointed out that the company began investing in Serbia, after Etihad Airways acquired a strategic stake in Air Serbia, which opened this way for Emirati investments in various sectors in Serbia.

Al-Shammari pointed out that the new expansion work taking place at Belgrade Airport will contribute to raising the number of passengers, and thus increasing the company’s business volume, to meet the demand of airlines flying to Belgrade.

In his speech, Al-Shammari touched on the company’s work in electromechanical, as it manufactures iron boxes for underground electrical installations.
