Genoa: talk music and books, the Andersen Festival returns to Sestri Levante

Today opened the day with the Children’s Procession which colored the streets of the city: hundreds of children, teachers and families animated the city center in a festive celebration of creativity, imagination and sharing, confirming once again the strong link between the Festival and the world of school. Among today’s events, the Andersen Talk, which will feature Nicola Brunialti and Gabriele Vagnato in a dialogue dedicated to communication, creativity and contemporary languages. Tonight, at 9pm, at the Arena Conchiglia, there will be space for reflection with ‘Europe does not fall from the sky’, an event created in collaboration with the representation of the European Commission in Italy to explore the value of European citizenship through words, testimonies and discussion. At 9.30pm, in Piazza Matteotti, it will be the turn of the ‘Vertigo Gala’, a contemporary circus show organized by the Cirko Vertigo Academy, then the night of the Andersen Festival will continue in the evocative setting of the Bay of Silence with the musical show by Black Ball Boogie.

Among the most anticipated events of the Festival is tomorrow, Saturday 6 June, when at 11am, in the Sala Agave of the Convento dell’Annunziata, the awards ceremony of the 59th edition of the Andersen Prize – Baia delle Favole will take place, a historic literary competition, chaired by the writer Nadia Terranova, which continues to valorise talents and new voices in writing for children and beyond.
