Trump ordered Iran and Israel to immediately stop ‘shooting’

US President Donald Trump addressed Israel and Iran on his Truth Social account: “Israel and Iran must immediately stop shooting (the word “shooting” is in quotation marks).

Let us note that Donald Trump insisted that Israel accept the deal with Iran, emphasizing that it is not Netanyahu who decides, but he. The Israeli strike on air defense systems and other targets of the Iranian regime apparently came as a surprise to Trump, although Iranian officials are trying to shift responsibility for the renewed hostilities to the United States.

In particular, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai doubted statements according to which the US administration was taken by surprise by Israeli strikes on Iranian territory. “No one will believe that the Israeli regime would take such actions without coordination with the United States. America bears full responsibility for this aggression, it will also have to answer for the consequences of any escalation,” the Iranian official said.

Until now, it is known that the United States did not take part in the renewed strikes on Iranian regime targets on Monday night.

Meanwhile, the IDF views the resumption of hostilities against Iran not as the beginning of a new round of confrontation, but as a continuation of Operation Roar of the Lion, reports the Kan news service.

According to IDF officials, throughout the ceasefire period, the resumption of hostilities was considered as one of the likely scenarios, and the IDF prepared in advance for the possible resumption of shelling and developed appropriate operational plans.

The IDF stressed that it maintains close coordination with the United States. According to them, the American side participated in the coordination of defensive actions, but strikes on Iranian territory were carried out exclusively by Israel.

The Army says it is preparing for both several days of intense combat and a longer campaign. At the same time, preparations continue for various scenarios, including the possible involvement of Hezbollah in the fighting.
