Following allegations from actress Ruby Rose, Australian authorities are investigating US pop star Katy Perry for an alleged sexual assault. It’s about one alleged sexual assault in 2010 in the Australian metropolis of Melbourne, the Victoria state police said on Wednesday.
Police said it was “inappropriate” to provide details about the case because of the ongoing investigation. Perry denied the allegations in a statement to the industry magazine Variety. “The allegations spread by Ruby Rose on social media are not only flat out false, they are dangerous reckless lies,” it said.
The statement also emphasized that that Rose repeatedly “makes serious allegations against various people on social media – Accusations that have been repeatedly rejected by those mentioned.” This recurring behavior of the Australian actress, who is particularly known for the prison series “Orange is the New Black”, is “well documented”.
Perry rose to stardom with hits like “I Kissed a Girl,” “Hot n Cold” and “Roar.” Most recently, she was in the headlines because of her relationship with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
