“I thought I would only do one summer series”: Michka Assayas celebrates the 10th anniversary of “Very Good Trip” on France Inter

Tuesday April 14, at 9 p.m., rock legend Patti Smith opens the 50th Printemps de Bourges at the Palais d’Auron Daniel Colling in front of 2,500 excited fans. For an hour and a half, locked in a tiny OB van parked in front of the performance hall, a man comments on his concert with rare enthusiasm and erudition. This is Michka Assayas.

Casually, his show “Very Good Trip” has been delighting France Inter evenings for ten years. From Monday to Thursday, from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m., Michka Assayas shares his passion and his favorites, from post-punk and new wave that he loved as a teenager to Angélique Kidjo’s new album. This Friday, April 24, he is exceptionally on the air to broadcast Patti Smith’s exciting show recorded in Bourges. A privilege.
