Pelicans’ Patrik Bartosak insulted sexual minorities

Bartosak took a stance on the TPS attacker on Instagram Veli-Matti Savinainen to the video published on Wednesday. In the video, Savinainen, who won the world championship in Leijon in 2019, criticizes the pride movement that promotes the cause of gender and sexual minorities. Pride month is celebrated in Finland during June.

Bartosak thanked Savinai for his publication and used the expression “fag minorities” in his public Instagram comment. Bartosak’s comment was addressed to another Instagram user, who in turn had criticized Bartosak.

“Hint minorities like you are of course unable to understand life,” Bartosak wrote.

Bartosak later deleted his comment.

The Pelicans managing director Juuso Pulliainen says that the club has taken the social media writing of its Czech goalkeeper to the club’s internal processing.

Bartosak, 33, is the Pelicans’ biggest star player and a fan favorite.

“That was in no way an activity in accordance with the club’s values,” says Pulliainen.

“We support and respect equality both in sports and outside of sports. This player’s exit was not in line with the team’s line. That is why it will be reviewed with the player, and that process has already started with him.”

According to Pulliainen, part of the process was that Bartosak deleted his comments from Instagram.

“It already tells in its own way what we thought about this.”

Chubby girl says that Pelicans has received feedback on Bartosak’s writing from both partners and fans.

“That’s why it has been reacted to immediately,” he says.

“Of course we will condemn that (comment). On the other hand, you cannot shackle an individual player or block his opinions, even if they are different from our company’s opinions and values.”

Pulliainen says that as an employer, he cannot comment on the internal handling of the player’s case any further than this.

They are Bartos has saved for Pelicans in five different SM league seasons since 2020. Sometimes he has played in the KHL and in his home country, the Czech Republic. He prevented the Pelicans from winning the SC silver in the spring of 2023. He is generally considered one of the best goalkeepers in the SC league.

Bartosak has represented the Czech national team in the World Cup and the Olympics.

Last December, the Pelicans announced that they had signed an extension with Bartosak until 2028.
