NBA basketball club The French star of the San Antonio Spurs Victor Wembanyama22, has signed a hefty contract extension with his team.
ESPN:n according to the agreement, the value of the contract is 252 million dollars, or about 220 million euros. The five-year contract takes effect in the 2027–2028 season, and the contract includes the player’s option for the fifth season.
Agreement is cool, but according to ESPN, it could save the Spurs about $50 million over the next five years.
According to ESPN, Wembanyama would have had the option of a contract worth up to $303 million, but he reportedly wanted to allow the Spurs to spend money on other players’ salaries to strengthen the team.
Wembanyama had a scoring average of 25.0 and rebounding average of 11.5 in the last NBA regular season.
The San Antonio Spurs lost to the New York Knicks in the NBA Finals last season, 1-4.
