High jump superpromise Ella Mikkola: a different problem

Finnish high jump super promise Ella Mikkola has suffered from a positive problem: he is too fit.

Mikkola’s, 18, physique has developed comprehensively for this season, which has pushed him to push too close to the bar. For example, in the second race, the competition ended with a weak result of 181 cents, although Mikkola stayed overtime on the field to practice, surpassing 190.

“Solutions have now been found. This is completely normal, because every athlete always has something to improve on.”

The results have been decent, even if they have come about a bit by force. The record 191 from Paavo Nurmi’s games is the season’s top domestic result.

“Technically good jumps have been few and far between in the competitions. I am satisfied that today I got more of them in the competition.”

Mikkolan the bounces rose spectacularly on Sunday.

The Tampere native won the domestic athletics tour with a score of 190 in his home race. He defeated, among other things Ella Junnilan and Sweden Engla Nilssoninwho cleared 187.

Mikkola and the coach Laura Moisio agreed that the competition was the best of the season.

“I got several good jumps and kept a balanced tone.”

“The familiar stadium was definitely also an advantage. The platform and the jumping place are familiar, and I have good experiences here.”

Mikkola refers to the European Championship silver for under-20s from last summer. He exceeded 189 and lost the gold in the protocol comparison to Hungary For Lilianna Bator.

Ella Mikkola improved her outdoor track record by ten centimeters and rose to the attention of Finns last year.

The goals of the age group competitions are higher this year.

Mikkola wants to be the first Finn to celebrate the high jump world championship at the under-20 World Championships.

“If you get in a good mood there and things fall into place, then I feel that everything is possible.”

Mikkola is fourth in the world statistics for 19-year-olds. Top of the list, Australian Izobelle Louison-Roe has popped 195.

Juniors The World Championships in Athletics are held at the legendary Hayward Field in Eugene, USA.

The field is special because it is where the US champions are decided, both in the open class and among varsity athletes. The stadium is built so that there are the best possible conditions for every sport.

Although several Yankee universities wanted Mikkola on their team, the young Finn decided to sign a professional contract with Adidas and stay in the north.

A Finnish university and the current training environment beat the lure of the world’s highest-quality athletics equipment.

“Everything works really well here. I have all my close people in Finland. I see my immediate future here, where it is also easier to realize it.”
