The organizing committee of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics warns foreign athletes who will be at the Games next month that behaviors deemed contrary to the Olympic spirit or Chinese laws they will be punished.
The warning came during a virtual press conference hosted by the Chinese embassy in the United States. Behavior or statements contrary to the Olympic spirit or Chinese laws and regulations, said Yang Shu, deputy director general of international relations for the organizing committee of the Games, “will be subject to certain punishment”.
Among the measures that will be implemented, he continued, there is also the cancellation of the accreditation of athletes, if their actions or words will be against the Olympic Charter.
