567 minutes without a goal: Things are getting tighter for TSV Hartberg

The Styrians haven’t won in nine league games. Even neo-coach Klaus Schmidt could not stop the downward trend.

For TSV Hartberg, the situation in the relegation battle is becoming increasingly precarious. After the 1-0 home defeat against WSG Tirol, the Styrians are only two points ahead of bottom Altach.

While the Vorarlbergers are slowly picking up speed after a long negative series and took a point in the last second in the 2-2 win over Admira on Saturday, Hartberg is on a real bad run.

Jürgen Heil scored the last goal in the league on February 13 in a 1-1 draw against Admira. Since then, the Hartbergers have been chasing a goal for 567 minutes. The offensive deficits were also revealed in the 1-0 defeat against WSG Tirol, which could have been higher.

“We weren’t able to do much on offense,” said Klaus Schmidt. The Styrian had replaced Kurt Russ as coach before the start of the relegation group, but he couldn’t end the goal drought either. After Hartberg had played 0-0 at least twice in the first two games under Schmidt, it was now the sensitive home defeat. Hartberg has not won any of his last nine matches.

“We have to analyze very carefully now, but not quarrel for too long. We have to concentrate on the next games. Everyone has to improve. We have to show more stability in defense and become more flexible in attack,” demands Schmidt.
